Review: 2016 Tour De France

The Tour De France again this year was won by Chris Froome in dominate fashion. That's the problem, in my opinion, this tour was a boring one. Team Sky have won the 4 of the last 5 Tours. Nevertheless there have been some amazing battles throughout the 3 weeks. Sagan and Cav have been lighting up the sprint finishes. Adam Yates did a brillant performance in the mountains. Overall not a bad race, just need to have a more exciting GC battles in the future. That's why the Giro and Vuelta are more exciting in that respect.

Chris Froome was probably on his best form ever. We saw that he improved his descending skills hence his stage win on stage 8. He was to keep hold of everyone in the mountains and crush them in the time trials. He has won a third tour putting him with Greg Lemond, Philippe Thys, etc. He will be legend of the Tour and the sport of cycling.

Peter Sagan once again showed why he's the winner of the green jersey. He won three stages in style. The highlight of the race was when he broke away with his Bodnar(teammate), Thomas, and Froome in the crosswinds on stage 11. He scored more points this year than ever before with 470 points. Sagan is a rider of great class and a winner of a fifth time of the green jersey.

Adam Yates had a breakthrough year at the Tour. He finished fourth overall and won the white jersey as best young rider. His time trialing definitely needs work but he could be a grand tour winner in a few years. He was on the podium for a while until the final week.

Rafal Majka won the king of mountains jersey for the second time in his career. He was aggressive in getting into breakaways and getting maximum points. Wasn't able to win a stage but always right up there. A very good consistent climber and a well deserved winner.

Well that's all folks. Another Tour in the books. Can't wait for 2017. The question will be can anyone stop Team Sky's run?
